May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us,that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, O God;may all the peoples praise you.May the nations be glad and sing for joy,for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth.May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God,our God, will bless us. God will bless us,and all the ends of the earth will fear him.

We've Moved!

We are moving websites. I'm not a big fan of Xanga for no reason at all-it's just that I prefer Blogger better. So click here for our new website. I will no longer be posting on Xanga. To comment on blogspot, you do not need your own blogspot. Anyone can comment. See you there!

A Day on the Farm . . .

Living History Farms-Sep 26 004

Well yesterday was Jesse's day off so we headed down to Des Moines to visit Living History Farms. I hadn't been there in years and Jesse remembered that I had mentioned wanting to go sometime. He decided yesterday would be perfect since it was such a beautiful fall day. We ate at the Iowa Machine Shed and had some classic Iowa meals. I am such an Iowa girl when it comes to food. I love my meat and potatoes. We had a great time learning about life back in the 1850's-1900's. On each farm, there were people dressed in period clothing and they really worked the farms! At the 1850 farm, 2 women where in the small log home (picture Little House on the Prairie) cleaning up after their noon meal that they actually cooked! One of them was going to make a pie too. We also visited the old town. Unfortunately the General Store was closed so I didn't get to buy my lemon drops and Sasparilla. Oh well, life goes on.

Poor Renae . . . .she got sent to the dunce chair. There was no hat for her to wear-Jesse had it.

Happy 1 month Renae! Wow! I can't believe it's been a month since Renae was born! And YES we CAN remember what it was like without her. We love our little girl bunches but we love being with each other too. Jesse and I are looking forward to next week when we are together-just the 2 of us for 4 days. I'm sure we will miss sweet little Renae too.

Masson Family Update . . .

Renae

Renae had a follow up appointment yesterday to check on her weight and to make sure a heart murmur was gone. It was! I really liked the doctor we saw and I think we are going to stick with him. She also gained some weight-but not a ton. This little peanut is just not a big eater. She gained 9 ounces in 14 days and ideally she should have gained 14. However her cheeks looked good and her skin tone was good so he said she didn't need to be re-weighed before her 2 month appointment. She now weighs 8lbs 14oz. What a little peanut!

Shower Fun . . .

photo

Alyssa, Makenna and Lori-the hosts (Lori wasn't sure which camera we were supposed to look at)

Saturday Jesse's Aunt Lori, daughter and daughter-in-law hosted a shower for Renae. Lot's of Jesse's aunts and family friends were able to come so we had a great time. I of course didn't take many pictures because I forget I have my camera lots of times. I screwed up Renae's eating schedule and didn't feed her very well when we first go there. As a result, she was a little poopy pants for part of the shower. (Well not literarily poopy-but we hope she is soon! She tends to go a few days at a time with no poo-poo. We hope tomorrow she literally has poopy pants. Oh my-is this where my life excitement comes from now?? I must be a mother . . . ) Anyways, since I didn't take any pictures I have a few of Renae from this week, and pictures of a very special gift from my Aunt Debby who came up from Missouri to attend. I'll explain her gift with a series of photos . . .

The hair and glue needed for the weaning . . .

Allow me to explain further . . . At my cousin's wedding, I told my Aunt Debby I had learned that in Turkey, they wean their babies by gluing hair to their nipples. It is quite an interesting idea to us Americans of course, and a somewhat humorous one at that. So . . . Aunt Debby being the funny aunt that she is made me my very own weaning kit incase I desire to follow in the tradition of our far east neighbors. I don't think I'll be using it . . perhaps some other lucky woman I know will receive it in the future . . .
